LocalPdfMerge

Merge and split PDFs in your browser — never uploaded

Runs locally · No upload · No account · Files never leave this device

Multiple files · reorder before merge · stays on this device

Privacy: your PDFs are read only in this tab’s memory. Nothing is uploaded to our servers. Soft limits: ~25 MiB per file, ~64 MiB per batch — large files may be slow on phones.

    How it works

    1. You pick one or more PDFs. Bytes stay in browser memory.
    2. Merge: reorder the list, then combine into one file.
    3. Split: enter page ranges (e.g. 1-3, 5) and extract each range.
    4. Processing uses pdf-lib in this tab — not a server. Open DevTools → Network: you should see no document upload.

We do not offer remote URL fetch, cloud storage, or “certified” redaction. Bring files you already have and have the rights to use.

    FAQ

    Is my PDF uploaded?

No. Merge and split run in your browser with pdf-lib. Open DevTools → Network while you work: you should see no upload of your document bytes. Files never leave this device.

    Which formats work?

Standard PDF files (.pdf). Encrypted or heavily damaged PDFs may be rejected with a clear error. We do not accept Word, images, or remote URLs in the MVP.

Is there a merge size limit?

Honestly: yes, your device's memory. Soft guidance is about 25 MiB per file and about 64 MiB total per batch. Very large files may be slow or fail on phones. We do not claim unlimited cloud processing.

    Do signatures and bookmarks survive?

The result is a new page-copy document. Digital signatures, bookmarks, forms, and accessibility tags are not guaranteed to survive — check those separately before sharing.

Is this certified redaction or legal compliance software?

No. LocalPdfMerge is a utility for combining and extracting pages. It does not claim certified redaction, e-discovery, or regulatory compliance.

    Is it free?

Yes. No account and no watermark in the MVP.
