How to rotate PDF pages
- Drop one PDF into the box above.
- Leave Pages to rotate as
all, or type pages such as2, 5-7. - Pick 90°, 180°, or 270° clockwise and press Apply rotation. The change is listed under the buttons.
- Need different angles for different pages? Change the pages and angle and apply again. Rotations add up (90° twice is 180°).
- Press Save rotated PDF and download
yourfile-rotated.pdf.
How the rotation works
PDF pages carry a /Rotate value that tells viewers how to display them. This tool adds your angle to each selected page’s existing value with pdf-lib and saves the document again. Page content is not re-drawn or re-compressed, so text stays selectable and images keep their quality. All of it happens in this tab — see the trust check to verify no upload.
Honest limits
- No thumbnails. This version does not render page previews; you pick pages by number. Open the result to check.
- Display rotation only. It changes how pages are shown, not the content stream. Some printers or older tools that ignore
/Rotatemay still show the original orientation. - Re-saved file. Saving rewrites the PDF, which invalidates digital signatures. Forms and bookmarks are usually kept because the original document is saved, but check them.
- One PDF at a time, soft limit about 25 MiB. Encrypted PDFs are rejected.
- Clear or closing the tab discards unsaved changes. Nothing is stored on a server.

FAQ
Can I rotate just one page of a PDF?
Yes. Type that page number, for example 4, in Pages to rotate, pick an angle, and apply. Other pages stay as they are.
Is the PDF uploaded to rotate it?
No. pdf-lib changes the page rotation in this tab’s memory and the download is created locally as a blob URL.
Does rotating reduce quality?
No. Only the page’s rotation value changes. Text and images are not re-rendered or re-compressed.
Can I rotate counterclockwise?
Yes. 270° clockwise is the same as 90° counterclockwise.
Will a signed PDF stay signed?
No. Saving any change to the file invalidates existing digital signatures. Rotate before signing, or keep the signed original.
Why does the page still look sideways in one app?
Some tools ignore the PDF rotation value. Most browsers and PDF readers respect it. Check the result in the app your recipient will use.
